The taste of love in every perfect dish

They say you don’t really work if you love what you’re doing. Moses Ruben therefore hasn’t worked for the 14 years he has been living his dream of operating Trinidad’s oldest proprietor chef-run fine dining restaurant. In 2014, Moses’ daughter, Collette, who literally “grew up” in Mélange, learning firsthand from her dad the mix of professionalism, friendliness and amazing food that define the restaurant, joined him in Mélange’s kitchen, where they prepare what might be the tastiest menu on the Avenue – and certainly is the food made with the most love. Collette benefits greatly from Moses’ lifetime of experience – but it doesn’t hurt that she holds Le Cordon Bleu’s grande diplome in both pastry AND cuisine! (You suspect Collette’s influence in the Dwight Campbell-designed coffee table and couch in Mélange’s new, less formal dining room nook, the perfect place to share Mélange’s small plates.)
Reserve the entire restaurant or the private room – named the “26.2” in honour of Moses’ love of the marathon – for your own function or have Mélange come to you: Mélange’s off-site catering delivers the same exceptional food and service, combining authentic fine dining with the personal attention you’d expect only in the home of a friend.
